Ampco's line of marine pumps are ideally suited for saltwater, as well as brackish water and waste water applications. Our K,R,Z, and E Series pumps are available in nickel aluminum bronze (CDA958) and Duplex 2205 stainless steel (CD3MN). These alloys offer superior resistance to corrosion/errosion in saltwater applications. Please reference our publications: "Why Nickel Aluminum Bronze for Seawater Pumps" and "Ampco Introduces Duplex 2205 Alloy Pumps" for specific attributes of each alloy.
All of Ampco's marine duty pumps, including the K,R,Z, and E Series, have ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) Type Approval.
The United States Army has used Ampco's marine pumps on reverse osmosis systems for more than 25 years. Ampco pumps are also used as raw water pumps, booster pumps, supply pumps, and distribution pumps on commercial reverse osmosis systems throughout the world. Other commercial saltwater applications include distillation and desalination as well as multiple uses on-board vessels such as bilge, ballast, engine cooling, condenser cooling, refrigeration, washdown, saltwater supply, circulation, and fire pumps.
